Dr. Joel Huegel is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and is the leader of the Biomechatronics Research Laboratory as of July 2009. Dr. Huegel began teaching at the Tecnológico de Monterrey - Campus Guadalajara en 2001 in the Industrial Engineering Department. He served as coordinator of the automation lab for two years and then as the Associate Program Director of the new Mechatronics Engineering degree. In 2005 he was accepted to a doctoral program at Rice Univeristy in Houston, TX.The degrees Joel Huegel holds include: Associate of Science in DesignTechnology (1989) and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology (1993) both from LeTourneau University in Longview, TX, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (1998) from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and his most recent Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University in 2009. Joel has over 10 journal and conference publications in the areas of Rapid Prototyping, Haptics and Rehabilitation Robotics. Download CV
